Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
— John 8:12 NASB
I am an amateur photographer who loves hiking, camping, and nature. Born in south Louisiana to second generation commercial fishermen, I grew up loving the water and marshland. When I was a teenager my family moved to the Augusta, GA area where I graduated from Lakeside High School. After graduation I enlisted in the United States Air Force, and during my enlistment I first started taking photographs. I was fortunate to have been assigned in the southwest United States, Germany and Alaska. I bought my first camera in Germany and I quickly found solace looking through the lens. While I enjoyed the southwest US and Europe, Alaska was the place that made the biggest impression on me. The memories of the Alaskan landscape are forever etched in my mind. Unfortunately, I lost that practice of photography as I worked and began a family. Now the desire to be outdoors and document this wonderful earth has returned.
I do not know where this will take me. I am trusting God and His plan for me. My photography started as a tool to capture certain moments of time in my life, it has now metamorphosed into a therapeutic journey. I find being out in nature and capturing the beauty of God’s creation helps me deal with my daily routine of life. I hope to document the beautiful area where I live and the surrounding area, with occasional trips thrown in.
